The Children’s Theatre

The Brief

Design a remarkable experience around the theme “Out with the Rageous”. Maximize fundraising during this non-profit event in all event spaces. Integrate the environment with entertainment for a seamless experience.

Our Work

Design | Build | Logistics

Concept a back-story for “Out with the Rageous” and bring it to life. Invite guests into a world of Versailles glamour juxtaposed with punk accents. Literally, bring the story to life as the night unfolds by turning hand drawn baroque chandeliers and furnishings into real physical objects. Let guests choose their own adventure through a mild or wild hedge labyrinth entrance. Create a garden path of live-artists performing in oversized frames culminating with a funk dance performance and gilded silent auction cocktail hour. Move guests into two opulently adorned dinner spaces using raucous drum lines. Transform a black box theatre twice. Once into a dining room and again into a punked out party with Drag queen performances and confetti cannons. Dress the entrance maze with costume lingerie and mark it closed due to “Outrageous behavior” for a final surprise as guests departed.

The Experience

In the end, it was quite a night. Folks in formal wear got their “kid” on and seasoned executives stood up in the aisles to dance. Many remarked it was the best party they attended. Through generous giving, guests extended the opportunity for young people in our community to experience live theater performance and education. Fundraising totaled just under one million dollars.
